Kittery Point, ME

On Sunday drove up to Kittery Point, Maine, where Phil has his other house. It was about an hour and 15 minutes away, but I only realized how far we traveled when we passed a Key Bank (I previously looked it up and it said the nearest one was 80 miles away!) Anyways it was a really nice place. We basically drove around in Phil’s boat .

Kittery Point seems like a pretty small community and the neighborhood is really nice. Everyone is friendly, and the river in the back is really just a channel of the ocean- so you can get anywhere easily via boat. The best part of the trip was the weather- it was a sultry mid ninetys day in Hudson, and was extremely humid. In Maine, there was no humidity and I even got cold when we were out in the boat. Also, the house was very airy and cool- great place to live!
One whole island is a navy shipyard. You can also see a huge decommissioned navy prison complete with a castle-esque center.

Check out all of the pictures here. You can see a pic or two of me (although they dont quite look like me) and a picture of Jake the dog (among other things).

Nothing very exciting happened the rest of the week. Work’s been busy, and I don’t have very much free time.

No ultimate this week :( On Monday it was pathetically hot, and today I was as a going away dinner.

So today (Thursday) was Amin’s last day. We had pizza at work and a mini-going away party. Then, after work we all met up at the Halfway Cafe (Amin wanted wings, and after some research this was determined to be the ideal place). After the waitress gave me a hard time for asking if they had Coke or Pepsi and then trying to order water when she said they only had coke, we all ordered a massive amount of food. I shared a large order of wings with Zi and Dustin, and also had a Chicken Fajita sandwich. Yummy!

After dinner I went to Zi and Dan’s house to play some cards. Zi helped Amin pack some (Amin’s flight to Malaysia is on Saturday) so we killed some time and watched TV on Dan’s projector-TV. Finally we got around to playing some Euchre. Good times!

Book
Finally finished Catch-22.  On Saturday or Sunday I’ll pick out some new books to read.  I don’t really feel like Ulysses or Crime and Punishment any more.  I’d rather read an interesting book.

Movies
Watched The Birds (Alfred Hitchcock).  Was pretty freaky but also funny.  The special effects are pretty cheesy- but the movie is so old what do you expect.  Never trust groups of birds.

Re-watched The Incredibles again.  I love that movie- might be my favorite movie of all time.  It just is perfect in every way.  If you haven’t watched it you should, and if you don’t like it, I’m extremely sorry but this is one of those situations where your personal opinon is invalid and wrong.

World of Warcraft
Level 31.  Just got some new equipment that Amin sent me.  Also got a crappy old laptop setup next to my comptuer so I can watch videos while playing.  (WoW usually does not take my full attention)

These Last Few Days

House is a very addictive TV show. I’m glad they got over their problem in the first few episodes of having every patient get random seizures to surprise the viewer. Too bad House isn’t my doctor.

Went bowling. I didn’t break 100 in any of my games (highest was 99) but had a lot of fun. We started with 9 people (3 per lane) and everyone that was not on my lane got over 100. This is the first bowling alley I have ever been to that didn’t reak of smoke.

For lunch on Friday, went to CJ’s. Sub place, much better food than the Pit and Subway. We played Euchre while eating.. quality food quality game.

Movies Royal Tennenbaums
Tried watching this movie before but got too bored. I liked Life Aquatic so I figured I’d give this movie another chance. Found it pretty funny this time- you just have to be in the right mood when you watch it.. its all based on awkward humor. I know Yoie wouldn’t like it (or Christine).

World of Warcraft Level 29.

Paycheck

Rainy day. WoW was broken all night (Blizzard gets so much money from the game they should NEVER have downtime), so I actually spent my time doing better things. (This assumes that WoW is the worst thing I could be doing) Watched a movie, some TV, standard stuff.

FoodMeal Difficulty: 1/10
Had pasta. This would be a 2 difficulty, but I cooked the pasta last week, so all I had to do was mix in sause and cheese and microwave. I also had some garlic bread yum.

Movies Paycheck
Good movie. Really reminded me of Minority Report- (stop reading here if you don’t want some minor spoilers)the main character makes a machine that can see into the future. Among other things he sees his own demise and the movie is about him trying to change that future. Is it possible? Who knows! Since this is a movie obviously everything turned out exactly as he saw so there was no need to actually finish the movie. It was fun and I liked Minority Report, so I also liked this one. Minority Report was better though.
