Nate (nmcbean at gmail.com), the creator of this website, loves computers and computer related stuff.  Isn’t that just great?  Now through this website, the whole world (or 5 people whichever comes first) can hear about his random musings and whatever he sees fit to print.

The website has gone through many many facelifts over the years. It never has really had any content worth looking at, but has been something for me to work on when extremely bored. Here you can see the basic history of this site throughout the years…

The First Nateweb

The first version of the website was created in 1997 at a summer program at a local school. We didn’t have the internet and it was a big deal because we needed an email address to register the website at Geocities. I remember we ended up using my Uncle’s address and he faxed the important information back to us. Click on the picture to get to an archived version of this ancient site. This site was on geocities.

The Second Version

After the summer program ended I promptly forgot about my website. Remember, we didn’t have any sort of internet. Anyways, after a while I became interested in websites again and took a course at the community college. I don’t remember if I made this page before or after my class, but the files are dated from June, 1999. Click the picture to get to the site. After using geocities, I switched over to tripod.

Either I lost the inbetween files, or I didn’t make significant changes until this version which is dated May 2002. This site was probably still on tripod, and shows how much I loved frames. Also notice my kickass logo that I designed all by myself in microsoft paint. This year marks the start of my yearly summer updates. Whenever I found free time at my summer jobs I would work on my website.

I don’t have many files after the older websites, and the next backed up files are dated to be from June 2003. I dropped the black look for a white look and actually attempted to make a decent design. Note that many of the links wont work properly because I just deleted the larger folders so the site didnt take up much space.

After the update in 2003 I started using content management systems like PHPNuke and Mambo and added forums and other content that looked decent but didn’t really back up well. Before I added wordpress (the current software) I was using Mambo (but had made the template look like a whiteish design similar to the last page I posted here.

Starting in the summer of 2004 I really didn’t have time at my job, and didn’t feel like doing very much. So, there has not been much of an update since then. Hopefully this design will stick around for a while because updating takes a lot of time.
